Kitaro ias born on August 25, 1948 in Chiba Prefecture. In 1979, he formed the comedy group City Boys with Otake Makoto and Saiki Shigeru. As an actor, he has appeared in many productions, including the films Summer Nude (2003), Trick: The Movie – Psychic Battle Royale (2010), Tenchi Meisatsu (2012), the NHK Taiga drama Taira no Kiyomori (2012), the drama Saito-san 2 (2013), Shinobi no Kuni (2017), and the drama series Nobunaga’s Chef.
