Around this time last year, I was in the mood for Gyoza at a different place.
So, I thought about combining the useful with the pleasant and went to Meidaimae station. Several scenes from We Made A Beautiful Bouquet were filmed there or around the station.
This Japanese film is wonderful. One of the most mature I’ve ever watched and features one of my favorite actresses, Kasumi Arimura, and Masaki Suda.

We all know that the staircase to Suga Shrine is the most popular location used by Makoto Shinkai to set the movie Your Name with Ryūnosuke Kamiki and Kana Hanazawa. But, particularly, I prefer the intersection of the previous corner.
Mitsuha had to go through this corner to access the stairs that lead to the Suga Shrine and, oh yes, record the most famous scene, in the most famous place.
Why do I prefer? Mainly because it is a more accurate scene, a more reliable image of the reality of the place that served as an idea. But, that’s it, the places are there to serve as an idea. No merit is lost and the scene on the stairs is the most emotional.

Before the temperature dropped and it got too cold, I took the opportunity to spend another afternoon at Shinjuku Gyoen Park. Despite being on a Saturday, admission was free.
This park was used by Makoto Shinkai to set my favorite film of his, The Garden of Words, with Kana Hanazawa and Miyu Irino. The images are simply superb.
Unlike the fantasies that made Makoto known worldwide, this Japanese movie is much more realistic and tells the story of a student who falls in love with an older woman. It can be cliche. But, it’s something that happens to almost everyone and the script was written with a lot of maturity.
