If you want to read my review of Hard Days, read this post. In 最後まで行く, a police officer has the worst day of his life. Accidentally, he runs over, kills and hides the body of a powerful drug dealer, gets involved in bribery and has his mother on her deathbed.
Yuji Kudo (Junichi Okada) is a detective and has received the news of his mother’s death. To make matters worse, he was made a scapegoat in a corruption scheme.
“I only accepted because you told me to, boss.”
Takayuki Yazaki (Go Ayano) is a police internal affairs inspector and unintentionally saved Kudo from a huge mess. Worse than a bribery scheme.
“Perfect timing. I’m going to your police station, as you probably know. Do you want to take advantage and go with me?”
The trouble was: Kudo was stopped, drunk, in a police checkpoint and refused to cooperate. Minutes before, he had run over, killed and hidden a body in the trunk.
Hard Days: japanese movie review

Kudo had not yet signed the divorce and his soon-to-be ex-wife was waiting at the hospital, angry with him.
“Your mother just passed away. Come soon!”
At the police station, the inspector was waiting to question him about the corruption scheme that the boss involved him in.
“I need the accounting for the last decade to look for undue expenses.”
In the trunk of the car, there was the body of an unknown man who, later, Kudo would discover was one of the biggest criminals in the city.
Kudo found a way to hide the body and destroy the car, so that it would not be inspected by anyone else.
“He caused an accident. But, he is on his way.”
The next morning, Kudo faced the inspector in an interview full of reverse psychology.
The situations become increasingly absurd and Kudo makes proportionally absurd decisions.
To Kudo’s surprise, Yazaki knew everything and kidnapped his daughter, as a form of blackmail so that he would reveal where the body of the criminal he ran over was.
Hard Days review: endless days

Federal government bigwigs were using a temple to launder corruption money. So the temple vault was full.
Tsukuru Oda (Hayato Isomura) was supposed to protect the money, the interests of the corrupt and the temple that received a commission.
But, he stole the money. A member of the government ordered Yazaki to kill him and bring the body. However, Kudo ran over Oda and fled with the body.
Why you should watch Hard Days

I won’t leave Hard Days ending explained or a download link here and there were two moments where I found the script weak. But, Hollywood wouldn’t exist if that was a reason not to watch a movie.
Furthermore, this Japanese movie is an action-packed thriller with a script worthy of winning the Grand Bell Award.
