If you want to read my review of Godzilla Minus One, read this post. In ゴジラ-1.0マイナスワン, in the final days of World War II, a group of veterans have to face the king of monsters, Godzilla.
Koichi Shikishima (Ryunosuke Kamiki) is a kamikaze pilot in the Japanese military who refused to follow orders.
“Look what happened because of cowards like you!”
Noriko Oishi (Minami Hamabe) enters Koichi’s life in an unusual way and, with an adopted child, the three begin to live together.
“During the bombings, this child’s mother begged me, almost dying.”
Koichi had seen Godzilla once before. The monster attacked an outpost and decimated the place. Upon returning to the mainland, he would have to deal with the shame, the trauma and feed his new family.

Months later, he got a risky job removing sea mines. With the payment he could buy food and powdered milk for the children.
“Just because it’s dangerous doesn’t mean I’m going to die. It’s not like being a kamikaze pilot.”
At that job, he met Shiro Mizushima (Yuki Yamada) and was able to rebuild the house to live with Noriko and little Akiko. However, Koichi refused to accept them as family.
“I don’t want that for myself.”
In reality, Koichi didn’t want to tell Noriko about his shameful past, the traumas and the giant monster he saw at the outpost that fateful night.
“You took me in, saved me, and we’ve been together ever since. But you don’t let me participate in your life at all.”
During their work, they cross paths with the Daikaiju again and manage to injure it. However, Godzilla manages to regenerate.
Godzilla destroyed everything, headed for Tokyo and the Japanese government didn’t warn the population to avoid chaos
“Are you kidding me? We need to start evacuating now!”
Through Tokyo Bay, Godzilla arrived in Ginza. Destroying everything in sight and Koichi would once again have to face the Kaiju. But this time, to save Noriko’s life.
Godzilla Minus One: the king of monsters

Although Godzilla’s official height, between 100m and 300m, fluctuates as much as King Kong’s height. I thought the film industry pushed the envelope by putting the two kaijus face to face.
Godzilla’s powers involve underwater breathing, regeneration, radioactive immunity, atomic breath, atomic pulse, magnetism, precognition, radiation balls, electromagnetic bite, bioluminescence, ability to absorb, produce, channel and condense nuclear energy.
King Kong had an axe.
Why you should watch G -1.0

I Won’t leave Godzilla Minus One ending explained or a download link here, but with today’s graphics, it was possible to see Godzilla’s true destructive power. Kong wouldn’t stand a chance.
And for me, who loves this country, it’s always cool to see in Japanese movies and series what the places I know were like in the past.
