If you want to read my review of Your Name, read this post. In 君の名は, Mitsuha Miyamizu lives in Itomori (糸守) and Taki Tachibana lives in Tokyo, ever since the day there was a meteor shower, they’ve been strangely connected through space-time.
Mitsuha Miyamizu (Mone Kamishiraishi) is the daughter of the mayor and lives in Itomori, a small and suffocating city for her. Every morning she wakes up feeling like she’s missing something.
“This feeling has haunted me since that day.”
Taki Tachibana (Ryūnosuke Kamiki) works at an Italian restaurant in Tokyo and has the feeling that he is always on the lookout for something, or someone.
“Since that day the stars fell. It’s like a dream.”
The realistic and mysterious dreams were actually fuzzy memories of the days they switched bodies. Try as they might, they couldn’t remember anything because reality was altered. So, it was like they never met.
Your Name: japanese movie review

Unaware of Taki-kun and Mitsuha’s body swap, friends and family find the sudden changes in behavior very strange. But, they don’t remember anything.
“You were demonic yesterday.”
Unpretentiously, Taki-kun, while in Mitsuha’s body, wonders on the notebook page about these extremely realistic dreams.
“Who are you?”
And, one day, Mitsuha responds. Thus, unintentionally, they establish a way to communicate and set boundaries for when they are in each other’s bodies.
“Could it be that when we dream, me and that girl switch places?”
Taki-kun liked his senior. But, with so much closeness and confidence, he started to fall in love with Mitsuha.
“You used to like me, right? But now you like someone else.”
It was as if Taki-kun and Mitsuha were subconsciously connected with their other selves in a parallel universe. Where was Taki-kun’s timeline different from Mitsuha’s.
In Mitsuha’s parallel universe, the Tiamat comet was still approaching Earth’s orbit. But, in Taki-kun’s universe, the comet already crashed to earth. In Itomori. Decimating the city. So, he will do whatever he can to save Mitsuha and the villagers in his timeline.
Reviewing Your Name: Makoto Shinkai’s multiverse

When Makoto Shinkai released Weathering with You, many viewers noticed that Mitsuha, Taki-kun, and his grandmother, Fumi Tachibana, appear in the movie.
Another character crossover in this Makoto Shinkai parallel universe that I noticed was Mitsuha’s teacher, Yukino Yukari (Kana Hanazawa). She was the lead in The Garden Of Word, a previous big hit.
So, I believe we can expect other cameos in the upcoming films. And if you want to know other Makoto Shinkai movies, The Garden Of Words is a great suggestion.
Why you should watch Your Name

I won’t leave Your Name ending explained or a download link here, but this Japanese film brings together many things that I really like: time travel, parallel universes and Japanese animation.
Furthermore, it is a production of the makoto Shinkai. So, the images are beautiful and the soundtrack is wonderful.

I really feel that you will like this one. So I decided to do this Kimi No Na Wa review. Go ahead, immerse yourself in the story, the environment and the Radwimps soundtrack.
And come back later to tell me what you think in the comments. This is my second favorite Makoto Shinkai movie.
So nice of you
Thank you for the kindness! With the release of the new Makoto Shinkai movie, I decided to watch Your Name again.
