The 100th Love With You

If you want to read my review of The 100th Love With You, read this post. In 君と100回目の恋, Riku inherits a device from his uncle that allows him to travel through time, but he is unable to prevent Aoi, the love of his life, from dying in an accident.

Riku Hasegawa (Kentaro Sakaguchi) is guitarist for STROBOSCORP, he hid the reciprocity of love for Aoi and always seemed to know what was going to happen.

“As always, he is an observant and perfectionist guy.”

Aoi Hinata (Miwa) is lead singer of STROBOSCORP and, apparently, she was resigned to having an unrequited love for Riku.

“Are you okay with the way things are with Riku?”

Riku knew what would happen if he gave in to her love. So he started pushing her towards the bassist and Aoi was so stunned by the discomfort that she ended up being violently run over.

To her surprise, instead of waking up in the other world, she traveled back in time and began reliving all the events identically.

“Your conversation, the falling plate, I’ve seen it all!”

Riku realized that Aoi was deliberately reacting to the events of the past week, and when questioned, she told the truth.

“Because the same thing happened a week ago.”

He told her the truth. His uncle had a vinyl record of life where the grooves represented the timeline. So when she got hit, he played the record and positioned the needle.

“I told you. I can go back in time.”

Since childhood, Riku had a crush on Aoi and had been “cheating” going back in time several times to make himself look cooler in front of her.

Finally, the two revealed their feelings, but in a month Aoi would go on exchange to England and would not return to Japan for a year.

“Do you want to start over? For example, from last summer?”

Unfortunately, despite his efforts, Riku was unable to prevent Aoi from being fatally run over and was trapped in an eternal loop trying to change her fate.

The topic of “time travel”, whether to the future or the past, is always fascinating and equally dangerous. Because there are many theories and paradoxes.

Calculations show that it is not possible to travel to the past, but they prove that it is possible to travel in time to the future.

The traveler only needs to get closer and closer to the speed of light or to a large gravitational mass, such as a black hole.

Another thing I love are Japanese films with bands full of cool songs and this one is with Miwa on vocals. I’ve seen some excellent live performances from her.
