If you want to read my review of Bakuman, read this post. In バクマン, two students, Mashiro and Takagi will face all the difficulties to become a mangaka in Japan and have their story serialized in Shonen Jump.
Akito Takagi (Ryūnosuke Kamiki) was a terrible artist, but he was bold and an excellent writer and saw Mashiro’s artistic potential when he stole his sketchbook.
“It’s decided! I’ll team with you.”
Moritaka Mashiro (Takeru Satoh) always loved Miho Azuki (Nana Komatsu). As for a career, he was completely skeptical about the idea of becoming a mangaka.
“That’s why I’ll never become a manga artist!”
In reality, he refused the proposal so vehemently because he had seen all the suffering that his uncle, his hero, endured in such an arduous profession.
Bakuman live action review: i write, you draw

Azuki was studying to become a Seiyu, an actress who provides voices for anime, games, radio and television. This was the push he needed.
Azuki accepted Takagi’s proposal to be their Seiyu, the voice of the anime they were going to create. With that Mashiro was all in.
Then, if both our dreams come true, please marry me!”
He invited Takagi to visit his uncle’s drawing studio. When he was a child, the space was his playground.
“Is this BAKUMAN? Your uncle was Taro Kawaguchi?”
Together they thought through all of his uncle’s tips on how to become a serialized manga artist and set the bar high.
“Right! I was also thinking that we only have SHONEN JUMP.”
Mashiro sought to learn as much as possible about all types of pens and their purposes, while Takagi studied different writing styles.
“Manga is too hard!”
With Hattori’s guidance they advance, but always behind the biggest competitor of all, the genius Eiji Niizuma (Shôta Sometani), preventing Machiro from fulfilling his part of the promise with Azuki.
Bakuman live action review: mangaka in Japan

How big is the manga market in Japan? Without manga publications, most Japanese publishers and bookstores would have already closed their doors.
37% of the Japanese publishing market is made up of manga magazines, such as Shonen Jump, which was founded in 1968, and manga booklets.
Since then, Japanese revenue has been growing, and the competition between artists and publishers has grown at an rapidly rate. Creating one of the most competitive environments for those seeking success.
