Little Nights, Little Love

If you want to read my review of Little Nights, Little Love, read this post. In アイネクライネナハトムジーク, a 27-year-old salaryman, Sato, leads his love life passively. Even so, he hopes for a spark of life in the form of a great novel.

Sato (Haruma Miura) has an ordinary and lonely life. From home to work and from work to home. Therefore, the chances of having the long-awaited and dramatic romantic encounter are very slim.

“I haven’t found the right one.”

Saki Honma (Mikako Tabe) works at a construction company. Therefore, when Sato declares her feelings, she was coordinating a traffic detour due to construction work.

“I’m sorry to say this in a place like this.”

While trying to fill out questionnaires on the street, with no success, Sato stopped to listen to a street performer, Saito Kazuyoshi, and Saki too. Thus, because of the singer and the questionnaire, they met.

Because of his coworker, Fujima-san (Taizo Harada), Sato spilled coffee on the company’s computers and the punishment was to go out on the street and approach people and fill out a questionnaire.

“It must have been hard for you to sit still all the time.”

Sato still didn’t know what the relationship would become. So he remained interested in how couples meet on a day-to-day basis.

“I’ve been interested in that sort of thing lately.”

Until then, his greatest source of knowledge was Fujima-san, who had just been abandoned by his wife and daughter. Mostly, about what he shouldn’t do.

“The little things added up. These complaints slowly built up. In her mind, it was swelling like a balloon.

10 years later, Sato and Saki lived a rather tepid and monotonous relationship. He thought proposing to her would be a good thing. She, not so much.

“Why are we still together?”

After that embarrassing moment, to say the least, Saki returns to her house, leaving Sato alone in his house and with the uncertainty of his future with her.

Reviewing Little Nights, Little Love: all very dramatic

Everyone who has been in a serious, medium or long-term relationship knows how difficult it is to deal with the whole dynamic of the couple.

It is very difficult to perceive the limits of each one, properly recognize the efforts of the partner and develop a good level of understanding between both parties, without losing respect for each other and with the maximum possible maturity.

In addition to all of this, do your best to keep things going and keep hope in the evolution of the two as individuals and, consequently, as a couple. All this is very difficult.

Why you should watch Little Nights, Little Love

I won’t leave Little Nights, Little Love ending explained or a download link here, but this is another Japanese movie that I really liked. Because it teaches a lot and draws our attention to very important aspects in a relationship. Whether marital or family.

I think everyone should watch this kind of movie. It helps to better understand why things are the way they are in a family and in marital relationships.
