If you want to read my review of Love Nonetheless, read this post. In 愛なのに, Koji finds himself involved in a loving sextet of people who don’t know each other, but suffer from the same pain, unrequited love for each other.
Misaki Yano (Yuumi Kawai) is 16 years old. A girl, with girlish dreams, but uninhibited like many middle-aged women are not.
“I come here a lot. I’ve liked you for a long time.”
Tada Koji (Koji Seto) is 30 years old, works in a bookstore and chases Misaki because she panicked and ran away with a book.
“I might get arrested for getting involved with someone young like you.”
Aside from the age difference, Koji refused to give up on unrequited love for another woman, but Misaki wasn’t going to give up hers for him either. So she continues confessing her feelings for him.
Love Nonetheless reviews a sextet of heartfelt stories

Misaki had a pure and youthful love. Always close by, willing to accept any condition and always with cute declarations of love.
“I’m sorry I keep writing letters like this, but it’s because I’m in love with you.”
Koji was rejected by Ikka Saiki (Hona Ikoka / Honami Sato), who was about to marry Ryosuke (Ayumu Nakajima), who was having an extramarital affair with the wedding planner, Miki Kumamoto (Yuka Kouri).
“This is a fling. A fling.”
Upon receiving news of the ceremony and realizing that he wouldn’t be invited, Koji began to fight the urge to declare himself again.
To complete the love sextet, a schoolmate confessed his love to Misaki twice and punched Koji.
“You promised you wouldn’t make a scene!”
Ryosuke wasn’t taking part in the preparations and Ikka found a lighter from the motel in his clothes.
“I can’t forgive you, no way!”
The uncertainties surrounding the future marriage and Ikka’s reunion with Koji shake the relationships of these six people and their respective love stories.
Reviewing Love Nonetheless: a tale of unrequited love

It’s amazing how, almost always, we desire those who don’t want us and we don’t want those who desire us.
It doesn’t matter how many and what qualities that person has towards us. How they treat us, how romantic, affectionate, willing they are, etc.
Maybe it’s genetic and psychological. We are driven by the challenge of conquest and our ego doesn’t want to be shaken by rejection.
