Knuckle Girl

If you want to read my review of Knuckle Girl, read this post. In ナックルガール, Ran was a boxing newbie, intimidating with four knockouts in her two-year career who went all-out against a criminal organization to save her sister.

Ran Tachibana (Ayaka Miyoshi) was a promising boxer. Inexplicably, she was forced to believe that an unrecognizable body was her younger sister.

“No. That’s not her!”

Yuzuki Tachibana (Kotona Minami) had a difficult life with her uncles, but she never showed any signs that she would suddenly take her own life.

“At least uncle doesn’t beat us like our father, so it’s okay.”

Suspiciously, the police refused to investigate further and only based on Yuzuki’s cell phone found in the car, reported suicide and closed the case.

Knuckle Girl review: brass knuckles

With no money for rent, Ran was living at the academy and Yuzuki lived with their aunt and uncle, enduring the violence of an alcoholic, self-interested uncle.

“Don’t worry. Focus on your fights, sis.”

Therefore, they didn’t see each other much and Ran suffered for not having been closer to her younger sister, to the point of helping her psychologically.

“What if the body really is Yuzuki’s?”

Ran found a clue in her sister’s belongings that led her to an exclusive members’ club, where she was nearly murdered.

“If it weren’t for me, you would have died.”

One of the employees was investigating the group, hacked the camera system and had evidence that Yuzuki was still alive.

“For them to have faked a suicide, she must be quite important to the Junin group.”

The Junin group controlled the Garage, a sort of modern fight club, an invitation-only coliseum and the employee’s father died in the ring.

“There they hold fights between Japanese and foreigners.”

And those who died in the ring had their deaths faked by the criminal group and with the consent of the police force.

Ran gets proof that Yuzuki is alive, but the corrupt police refuse to reopen the case. So, she hangs up her gloves to save her sister with her own hands.

Knuckle Girl review: golden blood

When blood is transferred between individuals, antigens present in the recipient can trigger an immune response.

Blood that is used to save a life cannot be seen by the immune system as an attacker.

The RH null blood type has this property. It is a rare blood type in the RH system that is considered “universal blood.”

Why you should watch Knuckle Girl

I won’t leave Knuckle Girl ending explained or a download link here, but if you are a fan of Ayaka Miyoshi, this Japanese movie is an excellent choice.

Full of tension, veiled threats and action scenes with lots of fighting. Ayaka had already shown her ability for action scenes with her participation in Alice in Borderland
