If you want to read my review of My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday, read this post. In ぼくは明日、昨日のきみとデートする, Takatoshi Minamiyama fell in love at first sight with Emi Fukuju. But, he doesn’t know that she can manipulate the space-time continuum.
Takatoshi Minamiyama (Sota Fukushi) is 20 years old and is studying at the School of Arts, specializing in caricatures. He fell in love at first sight on the train.
“On the way to college, I found myself totally in love.”
Emi Fukuju (Nana Komatsu) is also 20 years old, is studying Cosmetology at college and has just moved. Furthermore, she harbors an extraordinary secret.
“If I told you I could see your future, what would you do?”
Takatoshi, even though he was very shy, was struck by an instinctive desire. He had to talk to Emi. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to move on. Emi burst into tears because she already knew what the future held for both of them.
My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday: japanese movie review

On the first day, Takatoshi saw Emi on the train and when she got off, he got out of the train too and asked for her email. Followed by a statement.
“I fell in love with you at first sight.”
On the second day, Emi surprised Takatoshi while they were drawing pictures of animals at the zoo. Takatoshi was able to take Emi to a lake where, as a child, a woman had saved his life.
“Thanks for showing up today. I was happy to see you.”
On the third day, with the help of his best friend, Shoichi Ueyama (Masahiro Higashide), Takatoshi invited Emi to spend the day together and found the courage to declare himself.”
“Actually, I was looking at you the whole time.”
Now officially dating, Emi-chan helped Takatoshi-kun move to another apartment and heard a little more about the mysterious woman who saved his life as a child.
“She asked me to keep this until we meet again.”
Now that they started seeing each other almost every day, Takatoshi-kun realized that Emi-chan already knew things that he hadn’t told her yet.
“Come to think of it, this has happened before.”
On the eighteenth day, they have sex for the first time and are together until night. Emi-Chan left the diary at Takatoshi’s house and he read it. Surprisingly, she already knew this would happen.
“I’ve been hiding something from you.”
Emi-chan told Takatoshi-kun the whole truth. She came from a parallel world, where the timeline moves in the opposite direction to his and, because of that, she is able to know things that for him have not yet happened.
Reviewing My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday: opposite timeline

Basically, Emi-chan and Takatoshi-kun’s parallel worlds orbit in 10-year cycles. So every 5 years the timelines connect.
At that moment, the temporal interweaving lasts 30 days, and in opposite directions. So what is understood as day 1 for Emi-chan is day 30 for Takatoshi-kun.
Everything that is past for her is future for him and vice versa. Who saved him 15 years ago was her, 15 years older.
Why you should watch My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday

I won’t leave My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday ending explained or a download link here and I’m suspicious for recommending Japanese movies. Even more suspicious if this movie is related to time travel. So, if you like the theme, as I do, this is a great movie.
Also, this was the first movie I remember seeing with Nana Komatsu. Since then, I became a fan of hers and whenever possible I watch a movie that I haven’t seen yet.
