If you want to read my review of Masked Ward, read this post. In 仮面病棟, after months without working, Shugo was covering his ex-brother-in-law’s shift at a hospital and had to operate on a woman with the shooter threatening to kill everyone.
Shugo Hayami (Kentaro Sakaguchi) was returning to work after losing his future wife, who was pregnant, in a car accident. She was his senpai’s sister.
“You should start moving forward as well.”
Hitomi Kawasaki (Mei Nagano) had the misfortune of arriving at the convenience store just as the robber was fleeing, and as result, she was shot.
“Operate on this woman.”
The robber took Hitomi to the hospital and demanded that she be treated, but the operating room was disabled and Shugo would have to save her life with a gun on his head.

Shugo’s ex-brother-in-law didn’t blame him and so he asked for his help, but he warned him that, as it was a mental hospital, the operating room was sealed.
“You’re a doctor, but you’re going to let a injured person die?”
After 3 months of isolation and grief, Shugo had no confidence in operating on Hitomi. Seeing her bleeding and suffering reminded him of his fiancée.
“If you want to save her, then why did you shoot her?”
The clown seemed relieved to see the improvement in Hitomi’s condition, but he didn’t see a problem in taking the staff and 65 patients hostage.
During confinement, Shugo and Hitomi discovered that the staff lied about the operating room and some patients had undergone suspicious procedures.
“There’s something wrong with this Hospital.”
One of the nurses, Ryoko Higashino (Noriko Eguchi), warned Hitomi that the thief wasn’t acting alone, only interested in the money kept in the hospital.
“What did she mean?”
The masked clown wasn’t just a thief. He attacked the hospital for some reason, the dean was hiding something and Ryoko was found dead.

I am 100% sure that the masked organ market is absurdly more profitable than the sale of other items, considered illegal.
That at the top of the marketing chain are the most financially fortunate people and doctors, who are considered successful.
And at the bottom of this monstrous chain, unfortunate people, kidnapped or those invisible to the eyes of society.
Why you should watch Mask Ward
I won’t leave Masked Ward ending explained or a download link here, but I’m sure you won’t guess the ending of this Japanese movie.
And I’m very happy to see actresses and actors that I’ve followed since they were young starring in more complex and mature scripts.
