If you want to read my review of THE FABLE aka Za Faburu, read this post. ザ・ファブル tells the story of a hitman who was trying to live a normal life without killing anyone. But, he has to face several Yakuza gangs to save a girl.
THE FABLE (Junichi Okada) loves television, has a quirky sense of humor, can’t eat hot food, and has a lot of physical abilities. Which makes him the deadliest assassin in the Tokyo Yakuza (ヤクザ).
“A professional killer posing as an ordinary citizen. Sounds like fun.”
Shimizu Misaki (Mizuki Yamamoto) is a sweet girl who works day and night for her sick mother and to save money. When she sees that FABLE has been attacked in the street by bullies, she offers to help. And on a second opportunity, she offers a job at the company she works for.
“Leaving here, I have the night’s work.”
The mentor of THE FABLE and head of the Tokyo Yakuza arranges for him to take a year off and hide out in Osaka (大阪). On the pretext that if he learned to live a normal life, he would be a better killer.
THE FABLE: japanese movie review

THE FABLE gains a fake name and begins to pretend to be the mission partner’s brother. The only rule is that he didn’t kill anyone, under any circumstances.
“If you kill someone while you’re off, I’ll kill you.”
Ebihara (Ken Yasuda) is the second-in-command of the Osaka Yakuza and has dealings with the Tokyo Yakuza. Therefore, he lets FABLE live in one of the criminal organization’s residences.
Ebihara tests FABLE’s patience and tries to get him to kill again. So he could expel him from Osaka. Which is a very dangerous idea, as FABLE could easily kill him.
“You already know who I am. But, it’s already testing me like this.”
Turns out, one of Ebihara’s protégés, named Kojima, is due out of jail in the next few weeks and knowing that Kojima is a sadistic psychopath who is only interested in terrorizing, he knew that friction was going to arise between the two mafia assassins.
“Thanks to you, I can terrorize again.”
Several internal conflicts that exist in the Yakuza are intensified with Kojima’s return to the organization.
Adding to this, FABLE began to be hunted by other Yakuza assassins who wanted the challenge of killing the best assassin from all factions.
“If we take down a legend like that, we’ll be legends too.”
The conflict between THE FABLE and Kojima begins when Kojima starts pimping, disrespecting the Yakuza director’s orders, and decides to recruit Misaki-san by force.
When THE FABLE realizes that Misaki-san has been kidnapped, he jumps into the middle of the war between the Yakuza factions to save her.
THE FABLE review: the soundtrack

THE FABLE soundtrack has great ballads, hip hops and some instrumental songs, including Lady Gaga.
My highlight goes to Casey, Shigekazu Aida & Yoshika – A song for a killer.
It has a very melancholy melody that is very beautiful.
Why you should watch THE FABLE

I won’t leave THE FABLE ending explained or a download link here, but although THE FABLE is a live action comedy anime, the action scenes are electrifying and the choreography greatly highlights the skills of the Yakuza’s greatest assassin.
In addition, the film portrays a little of how this secret criminal organization works, how the bosses behave and the criminal honor codes.
