I took advantage of the sunny weather and went to a festival that took place on the island of Odaiba. For those who don’t know, that’s where the iconic Fuji TV building is located. I took the opportunity to make this record.
It’s one of my favorite stations. It’s not the one that produces most of the movies I like. But, it has its great value.
Two Japanese films on Fuji TV that are among my best are Kasane, with Tao Tsuchiya and Kyôko Yoshine, and Caracter, with Masaki Suda and Mitsuki Takahata.
Wherever I go in Japan I’m always getting references to Japanese movies. I think there is no greater reference than the Shibuya crossing.
So many cool productions were made here. For example, Alice in Borderland with Tao Tsuchiya and Kento Yamazaki, one of the great recent hits on Netflix.
And it was also here that Han “didn’t die” for the third time in that car chase in Fast and Furious – Tokyo Drift.
If you want to read my review of Kasane, read this post. In 累 ―かさね―, Kasane Fuchi is an excellent actress who had her face disfigured. Nina Tanzawa is a terrible actress with a wonderful face. They decide to make a pact and switch faces to achieve their goals.
